2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Do you ever wish that you could truly learn what God is telling you through His Word? Or wish that you understood the Old or New Testament better? Or had a grasp of sound Bible Doctrine?
At Gospel Baptist Church we are excited to announce the “Mahoning Valley Evening School of the Bible”. It’s a special education program designed help adults of all ages and junior & senior high school students deepen their Bible knowledge and increase their effectiveness in serving the Lord. Additionally, this program would be ideal for local church workers including deacons, Sunday school teachers, youth and children’s workers along with Bible study leaders
The goal of the Mahoning Valley Evening School of the Bible is to give you the tools to:
- Explain the overall structure of the Bible and the themes of each book;
- Engage in personal Bible study using proper methods of interpretation;
- Speak about their faith in Christ and show others the way of salvation;
- Provide biblical answers concerning key subjects of Bible doctrine;
- Teach others the purpose and mission of the New Testament church;
- Employ effective methods in teaching the Word of God to others;
- Follow biblical principles in establishing a Christian home that is honoring to Christ.
A typical semester will include 3 separate classes including special work books for the low cost of $12 per class, or $30 for all three. For example, in January we offered our first semester which included the following classes:
- Personal Evangelism
- Survey of the Old Testament I
- Basic Bible Doctrine
In total, the school will offer five semesters. Each semester will include twelve class sessions, with each class meeting for forty minutes on Monday nights. You can take one class, two or all three. The first class begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.; the second begins at 7:45 p.m.; and the third begins at 8:30 p.m. Classes are held at Gospel Baptist Church. Workbooks are provided for each class and there is no scheduled homework.
Our program is affiliated with The Crown College of the Bible and any student who fully completes the School of the Bible program may transfer twelve elective credit hours into any undergraduate program they offer. To have a look at The Crown College of the Bible, visit them at TheCrownCollege.edu.
